Progress in research into finding a therapeutic target in Sandhoff Disease

Sandhoff disease (SD) is a progressive neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disorder which leads to inflammation in the central and peripheral nervous system. Our group has just published findings in the Journal ‘Cells’ that we have found blocking a receptor (IL-1β) could bring benefits to patients. This provides for the first time a possible target to investigate.
